About Myself
The Roots
I was born in Nome and raised in Unalakleet (UNK), Alaska. I attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth then transferred to the University of Alaska, Southeast- Juneau Campus. Graduated with a BEd. in Elementry Education, taught in Galena, then moved to UNK for approximately 15 years, and am rerooting myself in Soldotna. I am currently resuming my Certification in Educational Technology while substituting with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.
My Mother is from St. Mary's, a town on the Andrefski River, a tributary of the Yukon River; my Father was a local from UNK, a town in the Norton Sound Region. I have 2 sisters, 1 brother, and 1 deceased brother. Therefore, this makes us siblings, Yupik and Inupiaq Eskimo. My daughter is 1/4 Tlingit, 1/4 Athabaskan, 1/4 Yupik, and 1/4 Inupiaq; whereas, my son is 1/2 Yupik and 1/2 Inupiaq.
